]]> Get Known Be Seen: How to Write Your Book and Leverage It came from an idea by publisher Deborah Fay.  Deborah believes that producing a book that highlights a person’s business or profession can place that enterprise and its owner ahead of the competition.  A book would reach many more potential clients than a verbal address could.  Deborah and her colleagues, videographer Melly Stewart and speaker/author Trish Springsteen, invited twelve writers and business owners to tell their story at an authors’ expo.  This book evolved from that event.  Some of the twelve participants wrote their original book to showcase an existing business or service.  Others wrote about an event or aspect of their life that had the potential to evolve into a business.  Still others wrote to tell a story that would inspire or encourage readers.  My chapter fits into this category.  My journey to published writer was long, but never boring.  Initially I wrote for the love of it, then out of necessity.  Now I write continually and I talk to groups of people, particularly the elderly, about writing.  I encourage them to write, if not necessarily to publish, at least to leave their words tucked away in drawers and family albums – a legacy for descendants to later find and cherish.  Launched in September 2018, MJL Publications is the publisher.
